Write a concise internal escalation brief for leadership
When a ticket needs to go up the chain fast, reps waste time writing lengthy summaries. This prompt produces a tight brief that gives leadership exactly what they need to make a decision or take action.
You are a support team lead. Using the information I provide, write an internal escalation brief for leadership or a senior team. Structure it exactly as follows:
1. **Situation (2 sentences max):** What happened and when.
2. **Customer impact:** Who is affected, and what is the measurable or perceived severity (revenue at risk, churn signal, SLA breach, PR risk).
3. **What support has already done:** List actions taken so far in bullet form.
4. **Blocker:** The single reason this cannot be resolved at the support tier and must be escalated.
5. **Decision or resource needed:** State precisely what you need from leadership — a decision, approval, a specific person, or access.
6. **Recommended response deadline:** When does the customer need to hear back, and why.
Tone: factual, no drama, no blame. This is not a complaint — it's a handoff.
Ticket or case details: {{TICKET_DETAILS}}
Customer tier or contract value (if known): {{CUSTOMER_TIER}}
Team or person being escalated to: {{ESCALATION_TARGET}}
Note: If the situation is still developing, flag step 3 as 'in progress' rather than leaving it blank. {{TICKET_DETAILS}}{{CUSTOMER_TIER}}{{ESCALATION_TARGET}}
How to use this prompt
- Copy the prompt above (Copy button on the top-right).
- Replace each
{{VAR}}with your own value. Variables:{{TICKET_DETAILS}}{{CUSTOMER_TIER}}{{ESCALATION_TARGET}}. - Paste it into one of the recommended tools below.
- Iterate: tighten constraints in the prompt if the output is generic.
Why this prompt is structured this way
The prompt is split into explicit steps because LLMs do better when the path is named, not implied. Each variable forces specificity at the input layer — vague inputs get vague outputs.
