Tier a raw account list into a prioritized target list

Sales & Outreach prospectingterritory-planningaccount-research

A new territory or a refreshed account list means nothing until it's ranked. This prompt takes a flat list of accounts and applies a scoring framework so you know where to spend the next 30 days.

Prompt
You are a sales operations advisor. I need to tier a list of accounts so I can focus outreach on the highest-potential targets first.

1. Review the account list and the ideal customer profile I provide.
2. Score each account on these four dimensions (1-3 scale, 3 = best fit):
   - **Firmographic fit**: Does size, industry, and geography match the ICP?
   - **Pain signal strength**: Based on what I've noted, how acute is the problem we solve?
   - **Reachability**: Do I have a contact or a warm path in?
   - **Timing**: Any signal suggesting they're evaluating now (budget cycle, growth, news)?
3. Sum the scores (max 12) and sort accounts into three tiers: Tier 1 (9-12), Tier 2 (5-8), Tier 3 (4 and below).
4. For every Tier 1 account, write one sentence on the single best opening angle for outreach.
5. Flag any accounts where data is too thin to score reliably — list them separately rather than guessing.

Account list with notes: {{ACCOUNT_LIST}}
Ideal customer profile summary: {{ICP_SUMMARY}}
My product / solution: {{PRODUCT_DESCRIPTION}}

If the account list has more than 20 entries, ask me to break it into batches of 20 before scoring.
Variables to fill in
  • {{ACCOUNT_LIST}}
  • {{ICP_SUMMARY}}
  • {{PRODUCT_DESCRIPTION}}

How to use this prompt

  1. Copy the prompt above (Copy button on the top-right).
  2. Replace each {{VAR}} with your own value. Variables: {{ACCOUNT_LIST}}{{ICP_SUMMARY}}{{PRODUCT_DESCRIPTION}}.
  3. Paste it into one of the recommended tools below.
  4. Iterate: tighten constraints in the prompt if the output is generic.

Why this prompt is structured this way

The prompt is split into explicit steps because LLMs do better when the path is named, not implied. Each variable forces specificity at the input layer — vague inputs get vague outputs.
